10 Months and my Test of Motherhood

I can not believe that my little Lauren is 10 months. She has grown so much and is the best part of my day :) Her 10 month accomplishments are, waving (she really waves for goodbye), patty cake, fake cough, and laughing in her car seat for no reason :) She is crawling like a pro and kicks into high speed when she see's somthing she wants! She is starting to climb over and under things, it is so fun to watch her! Her new thing is crawling under the chair, and like most chairs the bottom bars are uneven, but she tries to crawl over them and gets high centered! I eventually help her out but it is so funny :) She is learning new sounds and says bah, tah, mama, dada, seh, and more jibberish! She likes to pound on things with her hands.

She is such a sweet baby, and couldn't ask for anything better. I remember when she was first born and was fussy (we thought it was collic), and was a little bit high mantainance. Now she is (somewhat) laid back and plays so good by herself, and hardly fusses at all! I am helping with the middle school play and they were able to practice all morning from 8-11:30 and Lauren didn't make a sound the whole time. She was so well behaived and then around 10 I gave her a bottle and she fell right asleep and I laid her on the lunchroom floor and she slept with all the noise and everything (if it's noisy at home she is usually awake and seeing what she missed ) But she was an angel!

Now my test of Motherhood..
p.s. if you have a weak stomache just skip this part :)

So last night I put Lauren to bed with no trouble at all, then about 1 o'clock she was really moving around and so I went to pick her up. I got into my bed with her and she was still really squirmy and then it happend... she threw up, and I was able to catch it in the blanket (now I was not fully awake at this point) so I wasn't sure what the damage was so I laid her on my cheast to comfort her and then I heard her stomach rumble and then she threw up again right on my shoulder and down my back. Still not very aware of what was going on I laid her down, and sure enough she threw up some more (and of course I turned her to her side, I finally started to wake up) So I took of her clothes, changed my shirt and went to get a wash cloth to clean us up.

So we settled back down and she cuddle right into me, and not 2 minutes later it happend again. Yes on my newly changed shirt and on the new blanket I had for her, so we started clean up again. At the POwell Hospital they have a nurse 24/7 that you can call and ask questions, so it sounds silly but I called her. She told me it was probably just viral and signs to look for and that it would happen a couple more times that night. She was right, about 20 minutes later it happened agian; however this time I was prepared I had a "puke" bowl and a wet wash cloth. We didn't get out of that one clean (but much better than before). So intead of putting clothes on Lauren she just went with a diaper. Then we settled down with our supplies for just in case and about 20 minutes past by and it came again. This one was the last one and every one came out clean! What a night, the whole time antisipating her to throw up I was hoping that I wouldn't have to, and when she did I didn't even think about me I just thought about how sorry I felt for her. I was proud of my self! But the thing that surprised me is after she would throw up she would act like nothing happened and crawl around chatting and wanting to play, she never cried throughout the whole ordeal. At about 2 she feel asleep and stayed asleep the whole night, so whatever it was got out of her system and that was that ( I hope).

So that was my test :)
The last couple weeks Lauren's cousin Marcus and Aunt Hillary were here and we got to spend a lot of time with them!
And this is a little delayed, but I just wanted to recogonise my big brother Spencer. He has been deployed and has to be away from his family for 1 year to serve his country. We went down to Worland were they had a ceremony for the soilders in the Big Horn Basin before he left.
Thank you Spencer!

Puking babies (and children) are never a fun thing. It's so sad when they're sick. I love that usually it makes them want to just lay on you and snuggle, but breaks your heart at the same time. Lauren is so big and she's got so much hair! We can't wait to see her in a few weeks.
